Guest Room Rate: $115.00 Single (1 person, King Bed) $115.00 Double (2 people, King Bed) $115.00 Twin/Double (2 – 4 people, 2 Double Beds). Rate is exclusive of 13.3125% occupancy tax & $2.50 surcharge).
Subject to availability group members may extend their stay up to 2 days prior and 2 days after the official meeting dates, at your special rate by calling our local reservations department, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm at 1-575-522-4300 or 1-866-383-0443.
Reservation Procedures: Reservations may be made at the above rates until 02-06-2020. After this, the room block will be released and reservations accepted on availability only.
If you are attempting to make your reservation after the above cut-off date call our Reservations Department at (575) 522-4300, Monday-Friday, 9 AM- 4 PM. Guests must indicate they are with the Western Pecan Growers Association Conference to receive this special rate. Reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card or a prepayment of one night’s stay and tax 72 hours in advance.

El concurso se llevará a cabo el domingo 7 de marzo en el Hotel Encanto. El registro en línea está actualmente cerrado y se reanudará el viernes 1 de enero de 2021.
El concurso comienza al mediodía. Hasta entonces.
Los ganadores serán anunciados en nuestro blog el lunes. 8 de Marzo.
PRIZES & AWARDS
The Karin Davidson Food Fantasy Contest will be judged by food professionals. All participants will receive a certificate of participation when they deliver their entries. Ribbons will be given to the first three places in each category for youth and adult. Cash prizes are also awarded. First Blue Ribbon in all categories youth and adult is $40.00. The best traditional pecan pie in youth and adult is awarded $250.00 (sponsored by Leigh Fox Fletcher and Marge B. Fletcher). Outstanding Adult receives $200.00, and Outstanding Youth receives $100.00. Representatives from Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces will be presenting the 2020 Karin Davidson Food Fantasy Best of Show award of $250.00 at the Monday night banquet. Results will be posted online and available for viewing starting Monday March 2, 2020 by 9 am.
ENTRY RULES & INFORMATION
Entrants may enter all 15 categories, but, only one entry per category. All entries should be delivered on SUNDAY, MARCH 1, 2020 between 9 am and NOON. Deliver to the Hotel Encanto Ballrooms. All entries should be handmade by the entrant, and the food entry MUST CONTAIN PECANS. Exhibitors need to complete a LEGIBLE ENTRY FORM for each entry. Exhibitors also need to submit a LEGIBLE RECIPE with each entry. Please put all food on disposable containers because we cannot return platters. Refrigeration is available. Guidelines for Traditional Pecan Pies
Please use the following guidelines if you are entering a traditional pecan pie.
Custard (Filling) Ingredients
Be sure your custard (filling) is made from a combination of the following ingredients:
Sugar (Can be white or brown)
Syrup (Can be light or dark; can also be honey or molasses)
Butter or Margarine
Eggs or Egg Substitute
Vanilla or Run (Extract or Flavoring)
Salt
Flour (Optional; may or may not include flour)
Pastry (Crust) Ingredients
Be sure your pastry (Crust) is made from the following items.

Sugar (Optional; may or may not include sugar)
Vinegar (Optional; may or may not include vinegar)

Applicants must reside within the WPGA regions of California, Arizona, New Mexico, or West Texas (the area in Texas west of the Pecos River). Application may be found at westernpecan.org under scholarships.
The scholarship is available to individuals pursuing post-secondary education advancing the interests of the pecan industry, with preference given to Agricultural related degrees and a stated focus on pursuits directly related, and beneficial to the western pecan industry.
Immediate family members of the WPGA Board of Directors are disqualified from applying for or receiving a scholarship from the Western Pecan Growers Association.
It is possible to be awarded up to (2) WPGA scholarships per individual.
Transcripts of high school records to date (for incoming college freshmen) or college transcripts (if already attending), must be submitted.
Successful candidates must have at least a 3.0 scholastic grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.
Decisions will not be based on gender, race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, or cultural and religious backgrounds.
Scholarship award may range from $500-$2500.
Submit your application and supplemental materials by filling out your online application. Application may be found at westernpecan.org under scholarships or at https://directorwesternpecan.wufoo.com/forms/wpga-scholarship-registrations/.
Applications in their entirety must be received on or beforeFebruary 15, 2020 for the following fall/spring semester.
